Welcome to Vanish (“we,” “our,” or “us”), an encrypted messaging app that enables users to chat anonymously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Vanish mobile application (the “App”).
By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not download or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
No Personal Data
We do not require emails, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information for registration.
We do not collect device location, device information, or any other data that could link the App usage back to you personally.
Secret Key
You generate a secret key at the start, which is the only identifier within the App.
Please keep this secret key safe; if lost, we cannot recover it for you, and you may lose access to your account.
Messages
All messages are end-to-end encrypted and stored in our database in encrypted form.
Messages are automatically deleted 24 hours after being seen by the receiver.
2. How We Use Your Information
App Functionality
The secret key and encrypted messages are processed solely to provide the core messaging features.
We do not use your data for analytics, advertising, or tracking.
Security and Encryption
We use industry-standard encryption to safeguard messages and password information.
We do not read or moderate any messages, as they are encrypted and inaccessible to us.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or other legal processes. However, given our limited data collection and strong encryption, we typically will be unable to provide meaningful personal information.
No Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for marketing or other purposes.
4. Data Security
Encryption
All stored data (messages, passwords) is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Due to this encryption, we cannot read or intercept user messages.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for safeguarding your secret key and password.
If you share your secret key, others may gain access to your messages and account.
5. International Data Transfers
Our servers may be located in [your region or specify data center location]. Because we do not store personal data and only store encrypted messages, cross-border data transfers should have minimal impact on you. However, if you are accessing the App from outside our server region, your data may pass through international servers.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under [13/16 depending on jurisdiction]. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe your child has used the App and provided any data, please contact us so we can investigate and delete such data, if found.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

1. Use of the App
Eligibility

Account and Secret Key
You generate a unique secret key when you start using the App. You are solely responsible for keeping your secret key secure.
We cannot recover a lost or stolen secret key.
Encrypted Messaging
All messages sent through the App are end-to-end encrypted. We do not have access to the contents of your messages.
You can search and message any user by their secret key. There is no friend or follow mechanic.
No Moderation
We do not moderate or monitor message content. You are responsible for all content you send or receive.
Any illegal or abusive use of the App is strictly prohibited. You are solely accountable for complying with all relevant laws.
2. User Responsibilities
Lawful Use
You agree not to use the App for any unlawful activities, including but not limited to harassing, threatening, or defrauding others.
You are solely responsible for the content you send through the App.
Data Protection
You must protect your own data and secret key. We are not liable for any breach caused by your actions (e.g., sharing your secret key, using an insecure device).
Messages Deletion
Messages are auto-deleted after 24 hours once viewed by the receiver. You acknowledge that once deleted, they cannot be recovered.
3. Intellectual Property
App Ownership
We own the App, including its software, design, and branding. These are protected under intellectual property laws.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the App.
User Content
You own any content (messages) you create, but you grant us a limited license to process and store it as necessary to provide the service.
Since messages are encrypted, we do not review or access user content.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
No Guarantee
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
We do not guarantee continuous, error-free, or secure access to the App.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permissible by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App.
This includes loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
5. Termination
Voluntary Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. Since we do not store personal information, your account effectively ceases to exist if you lose your secret key.
Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access if you misuse the App or violate these Terms & Conditions.
6. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising from them will be governed by the laws of [Your Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law principles.
